Where I grew up in the suburbs of northern California, the rolling hills are golden, and a meadow of mustard flowers makes a good hiding place to read. So it wasn't a leap for this bookish flower child to play Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream in high school, Hermia after college, and Titania multiple times since. Shakespeare took me to regional theater companies in cities all over the country, and two national tours hit a lot of the small towns in between. Along the way I also found friends in contemporary theater, and fell in love with the process of developing world premieres.
Although the joy of transporting a live audience to laughter, tears or simple stillness will always be a fire in my blood, my most recent projects in film, TV and new media are inspiring new creative passion. Putting down roots in Los Angeles after years on and off the road has also meant making an exciting new community of collaborators. My teachers and friends at Anthony Meindl's Actor's Workshop motivate me to grow more honest, immediate and courageous. My tireless and hilarious agent Tim O'Shea at Activity keeps my spirits high and my face on camera. And prescription-strength doses of tough-love from my favorite barre instructor keep me primed to book a role chasing bad guys. Or beguiling them.
All in a day's work, Stranger. Or should I say, Friend.
